David grew up in Austin, and though he came to know the Lord at a young age, it wasn’t until he was 15 that he truly accepted Christ’s Lordship over his life. At the time he had already begun developing as both a singer, writer and guitarist, and David’s experience would later serve him as the co-worship leader of Lakeline Church. He was soon led back out into the field of outreach through a three-piece original rock band called Point of Contact, which he toured for almost eight years, until coming to New Hope. It is his heart’s desire to lead the church into true and heartfelt worship; worship that both honors the Lord in its excellence, and pleases Him in its passion. He and his beautiful wife Lauren live in Round Rock with their two boys, Gabriel and Elijah.
Melody was an Air Force kid in her early years, but landed in Austin at the age of five and stayed put. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Trinity College of Florida in Biblical Studies concentrating in Children’s Education. After graduation, Melody moved back to the Austin area and began teaching 1st and 2nd grade at a local Christian school. With the support of her husband Ben, Melody decided to be a stay-at-home-mom when their first child was born in 1995. She returned to teaching in 2000 as a homeschooling mom, graduating her oldest in 2014. Melody and Ben have been married for 23 years and have four children: Ben Jr., Jonathan, Madeleine, and David. Most of her spare time is spent enjoying watching her children pursue their respective dreams: Motorcycle Competitions, Taekwondo, and Dance. And she will ALWAYS have a knitting project along wherever she goes.
