7 for 7: Week 7

This week’s breath prayer: I praise You for all You are and all You have done.

Read

From them will proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who celebrate. I will multiply them and they will not be diminished; I will also honor them and they will not be insignificant.  Jeremiah 30:19

Meditate

Think about the story of the loaves and the fishes. Think about how Jesus fed 5000 with a small lunch. And He did it by giving thanks and blessing it. Consider the rejoicing that must have taken place among the men, women and children as they witnessed and experienced the miracle of abundance as their hungry stomachs became full – in a matter of a few words and a passed basket.

Pray

Father, we ask that You awaken our desire to Your love, Your holiness, Your joy and peace, Your grace and power. Now it’s time to give thanks and pass our baskets. You have done great and mighty things among us. With hands uplifted to the world around us, we will watch as You multiply that which we give.

Respond

Look back over the past six weeks and note markers of His faithfulness, as we prayed, by celebrating His goodness in personal worship.

Choose to be a voice, a loud voice, as you recall His faithfulness to you and yours.

Read

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.   Psalm 100:1-2

Meditate

Have you ever been around children that are really excited? They are so full of joy and gladness that they cannot keep from shouting! When I read this Psalm, I picture children bouncing up and down right next to Jesus, shouting for joy just because they are near Him. Maybe that is why Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” He knew that children are a great model to us of the pure joy and excitement with which we should worship Him.

Pray

Lord, please help me to worship You with the true purity of a child. Help my love for You overflow out of me so that I cannot help but shout or sing praises to You. I love You.

Respond

Throughout the day, find ways to “Shout out to the Lord!” Sing praises to Him as you go about your day. Tell Him how glad you are that He is your God.

Read

But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.  Psalm 5:11

Meditate

Papa God’s arms represent our safe place, our refuge. His arms are always ready to embrace us. There is no hug like God’s hug. However, since He is a gentleman with His love, He won’t force you into His arms. The choice is yours. You can try to solve your troubles on your own or you can climb into your Father’s lap, allowing Him to carry your burdens and to spread His love and protection over you.

Pray

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your amazing love and for being my refuge. I praise You because You are the one true God. I praise You for all You have already done in my life and for being faithful to complete what You have started in me. Help me to cheerfully obey during this refining process.

Respond

We certainly have reason to be glad, to sing for joy, to celebrate the love that our Father lavishes upon us! Imagine yourself climbing into His lap and then releasing all of your cares upon Him. Relax and find true rest in His refuge. The refuge He provides gives us ample reason to celebrate! Offer Him a shout of praise!

Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.   Colossians 2:6-7

Meditate

You’ve seen them…those big stately trees that grow beside a flowing stream…the ones you want to park underneath and stay awhile. Those trees have deep roots, and their branches reach to the sky because they’re established; they’re not going anywhere. When the wind blows and the leaves on the branches start swaying, it’s as if the trees are clapping for joy at their deep position, right by their constant provision.

Pray

Father, as Your constant waters of mercy and grace flow gently toward me, I want to clap my hands and say, “Thank You!” for planting me, establishing me and increasing my faith. It’s all because of Your son, Jesus, and my heart is full of gratitude and love… always.

Respond

Find a body of water with stately trees and sit or picnic under one, giving thanks for God’s provision.

Practice the art of clapping your hands often, as you realize His goodness in your life!

Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.  Psalm 107:1

Meditate

The Lord has marvelous plans for His people. Our mighty God and King has stored up great goodness and restoration. Everything in heaven and earth is His. Nothing separates us from His steadfast love. He reveals His plans through His Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. We can understand the things freely given us by God. Even our troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory!

Pray

We give thanks to You for Your abundant goodness and steadfast love. We offer our sacrifices of thanksgiving for Your wondrous works and plans. Let thanksgiving “pour out of our windows and laughter spill through our doors.” (Jeremiah 30:19a) You have done great things for us and we are glad. You alone deserve all thanks and praise!

Respond

Read

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.   Hebrews 12:28

Meditate

One day everything on the earth and in the heavens will be destroyed. But the Kingdom of Heaven will remain forever. Through the saving work of Jesus, we are now heirs of the Kingdom. We do not need to fear the shaking to come or that may even now be taking place. We have every reason to celebrate as we worship with awe our Savior who made this possible.

Pray

Lord, thank You that I am Your heir and that I have received Your unshakable Kingdom! Help me to be more aware of this truth every day, even when I observe things around me that appear to be shaking on the earth. I worship You, O God, as the One who has power over all things!

Respond

As you take time to meditate on this verse, it is important to remember that one day “The kingdoms of this world (will) become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever!” And we are heirs of that promise! Worship and thank Him today for this exciting truth!

Read

Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!    Revelation 7:12

Meditate

In this passage the author uses powerful language. You can tell that he recognizes the Lord as King. On Palm Sunday the people recognized Jesus as their King. They laid their cloaks on the ground for Him to pass over. They waved palm branches in the air saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord.” Jesus is unlike earthly kings. He rules us with love and grace. We cannot help but praise Him.

Pray

Lord, I recognize You as my King. What an awesome, loving King You are! I feel so loved by You, I want to give you all “praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength” forever and ever.

Respond

This week worship the Lord as your King. Repeat the breath prayer, “I praise You for all You are and all You have done.” Spend time thanking Him for each quality listed in this verse (our thankfulness to Him for His power, His glory, His wisdom, His honor, His power and His strength).
